Who We Are
Picture it…
Colorado, 2020.
With the sale of one 1992 motorcycle, we suddenly had the opportunity to buy our neighbor’s 1986 backhoe. Seemed like a fair trade at the time — two wheels for four wheels of opportunity. It might sound like the start of a tall tale, but that’s honestly how Rock Movers Excavating & Construction began.
Now… you probably want the history behind the history. Scott grew up in construction. His father was a generational contractor, and from an early age Scott learned that good work isn’t just about moving dirt — it’s about doing things the right way. Attention to detail, pride in craftsmanship, and a genuine desire to help people build something meaningful were lessons passed from father to son. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Scott settled in his childhood dream state of Colorado. Watching old westerns like Gunsmoke with his grandfather left a lasting impression. The idea that a person could stake a claim, build something with their own hands, and create opportunity for their family stuck with him. Colorado felt like the perfect place to do exactly that.

With that first backhoe, we started small — clearing pads, helping neighbors with projects, and taking on the kind of local jobs that keep a community running. Word spread, projects grew, and before long we were installing septic systems and helping families prepare land for their future homes.
Through countless conversations with customers, we realized something important: People weren’t just looking for someone to dig a hole or clear a lot. They were looking for someone they could trust to help bring their vision to life.
That’s when Rock Movers became more than just an excavating company. It became a mission. Today we help with land clearing, site prep, foundations, driveways, septic systems, and new home builds. And we take pride in proudly building our clients’ American dreams — one project, one property, and one family at a time.
But what matters most to us isn’t the equipment we run or the projects we complete. It’s the relationships.
Our Goal
We want to be the contractor you call not just for one job, but for a lifetime of projects.
Whether you’re preparing land for your first home, expanding your property years later, or helping the next generation build on the same land — we want to be a resource you can rely on every step of the way.
Because at the end of the day, we’re not just moving rock. We’re proudly building our clients’ American dreams — one rock at a time
